Homeschooling bump already

We started school Monday! The kids couldn't wait to get at their new books, school supplies & balance scales. It's Thursday and the thrill is over. We still have to get in another 176 days. I have a feeling this may be a long school year! I know if I keep it fun it works so much better. They learn more when they think they are playing. It's just that somedays I just want to say do your school work. They like it best when we have a lot of hands on stuff like science labs. Maybe we'll bake some cookies today and double the recipe. They love that kind of math & reading assignment & so does their daddy!

That's the good thing about homeschooling though, you can make it be whatever you want it to be that works best for your kids & family.

My son is very much a hands on type of learner also. We do a lot of experiments and creative projects. Today he made blueberry muffins and that counted as school for him also.

Hang in there!
